About the Community Calendar

This community calendar is provided and sponsored by the Albany County Tourism Board.

The purpose of the calendar is to provide the community with a way to promote community events and activities. The information should be provided by the sponsoring organization and it is the responsibility of the sponsor to keep information current and accurate. The calendar is moderated. You may enter events but these events must be accepted by the moderator. It is not guaranteed the moderator will accept all events.

If you have questions regarding the calendar or the policies of using the calendar, please call the Albany County Tourism Board office at 307-745-4195. If you have technical questions submitting an event or viewing your calendar, please read the FAQ. If this does not solve your problem, please contact Happy Jack Software at 307-766-6177.

Submission Tips, Guidelines & Policies

Submission Tips
  1. Be as concise as possible in choosing a caption for your event. Choose a title that describes the event in the broadest useful terms (example: "Social Senior Dance") rather than a lengthy caption, which can be included in the description field.

  2. Fill in all the appropriate fields to be as descriptive as possible about your event so people can get all the information about the event they need.

  3. Provide a street address for the event, if possible, in the location field and and avoid abbreviating building names for people who may not be familiar with these abbreviations.

  4. If your event has different prices for different audiences, clearly state which price is for which audience in the Price field.

  5. Choose the event category carefully to reflect what kind of event you are submitting. Do not select every category for your event thinking that this gets your event more views. If you have suggestions for event categories that believe should be included in the calendar, fill out the feedback form and let us know.

  6. All of the text entered will automatically wrap around to the next line. There is no need to hit return to go to the next line.

  7. Do not post the same event more than once. The moderator will simply deny the request and/or remove repetitive submissions. A good tip is to check first to see if your event exists.

  8. To avoid duplication and the publication of erroneous information, organizations and users should not submit any event they do not sponsor.

  9. Highlighted events are events with a picture. Your picture must be 103 x 100 pixels in size. Anything larger than this will not be allowed.

Submission Guidelines & Policies
  1. Only community events should be entered. Attractions and services are not events.

  2. Events must be entered by the sponsoring organizations.

  3. Personal events (example: a birthday party or a wedding) are not appropriate submissions to the calendar.

  4. Events must be open to the public if they are on the Community Calendar.

  5. Profanity and references to illegal behavior will not be tolerated in the calendar at any time.

  6. All fields must be completed on the event submission form, except those marked "optional."

The Albany County Tourism Board is not responsible for the accuracy of any information submitted by users. It is the users responsibility to ensure that information is provided and updated if event information changes.
