When Mike and Marian Ilitch opened their first Little Caesars restaurant in Garden City, Michigan in 1959, little did they dream one restaurant would grow into the world's number one carry-out pizza chain. However, with Mike's marketing genius and natural gift for product development, and Marian's wise financial management, this dynamic duo took the pizza business by storm and made Little Caesars into a household word.
Murf opened the restaurant in the summer of 1987 when he purchased the Chuckwagon Cafe. He added a full kitchen and began work on adding the bar and patio area. The Murf the Surf's beach bar opened in the spring of 1989. The cabana and patio landscaping were completed that summer. We will be serving Murf's famous taco burrito smothered with homemade green chile as well as Maggie's salsa, both from days gone by. There is a full menu of great burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, soups, sandwiches, salads, nachos and more. Soft drinks and hot beverages, bottled beverages also available. Limited breakfast items. As a matter of fact, we are rooted in family—literally. Two brothers, mom, and $600 turned into the recipe for the world's largest pizza company in 1958, when a family friend with the idea of opening a pizza parlor approached the two college-age brothers in Kansas. The concept was relatively new at the time, and the brothers quickly saw the potential of this new enterprise. Borrowing $600 from their mother, they purchased second-hand equipment and rented a small building on a busy intersection in Wichita, Kansas. The result of their efforts was the first Pizza Hut and the foundation for what would become the largest and most successful pizza restaurant in the world.
