Early summer in Wyoming’s Snowy Range Mountains is that magical window when alpine lakes thaw, wildflowers bloom, and the high-country trails finally open for those epic mountain views.

Whether you’re hiking, fishing, paddling, or simply soaking in the views along Hwy 130, the perfect way to end a mountain day is by rolling back into Downtown Laramie for great food, local brews, and a cozy place to relax and restore.

Below is our guide to pairing the best outdoor adventures with Laramie’s top breweries, and lodging. Makes for a perfect pairing weekend built for fresh air, good beer, and easy relaxation.

The Snowy Range offers a wide-variety of outdoor activities, especially in the summertime. Spend the morning on the outdoor adventure of your choosing:

High-Altitude Hike to Lake Marie or Mirror Lake

Iconic, photogenic, and beginner‑friendly.

Summit Medicine Bow Peak

The iconic peak with panoramic views gets you up to almost 12,000 feet above sea level!

Paddle Lewis Lake

Calm, glassy water perfect for SUP or kayak. This is a slightly quieter lake with stunning views of the range. You can even bring a rod and try your hand at fishing 4 different species of trout!

Explore The Queen Mine

An abandoned gold and platinum mine from 1924 established by A.J. Hull, Jessie Northrop just outside of Centennial, WY.

After a morning or afternoon in the alpine air, head back to Laramie (about 35–45 minutes) for the reward: food and beer. What could be more Wyoming than that?
