Universities & Colleges
Laramie is a hub for higher education. Not only are we home of the University of Wyoming, the state's only four-year institute of higher learning, but also a fantastic community college and world-class diesel trade school.
The University of Wyoming
Founded in 1886 as a land grant University, the University of Wyoming has grown into a top tier beacon of education in the arts, sciences, and engineering. The programs at the University help grow the state of Wyoming and have made Laramie the cultural capital of the state.
The Wyoming Institute of Technology has a long history starting in Laramie as a world-renowned diesel mechanic school. After a change of hands, ownership is now once again local to Laramie with a grand vision for the future of WyoTech. Students at WyoTech attend a rigorous program, volunteer heavily in the community, and are given the skills for a top notch vocational career upon leaving their chosen study.
