    Sweet Melissa has three shaded outdoor tables for you and your pup. Described as “Comfort Food for the Homesick Vegetarian”, their creative menu offers delicious vegetarian and international cuisine with something for everyone to enjoy. Start with an appetizer of cauliflower wings or try their Mac n Cheese of the day! Attached is Front Street, a cozy tavern with tasty drinks and mocktails.

    Vedauwoo Recreation Area is home to Turtle Rock Loop, a popular trail that winds around an iconic granite formation aptly named for its resemblance to a giant turtle. The loop takes you past ponds, through trees, and around fascinating rock formations. Keep an eye out for wildlife, especially moose lounging by ponds along the trail. Leashes are required at all Forest Service trailheads.

 

Dinner at Bond’s Brewing Company and Chaco’s Tacos

    Bond’s Brewing Co. welcomes dogs inside to hang out while you try local favorites like their fresh 2nd Street Wheat or tart Rhuberry. Local Laramie food truck Chaco’s Tacos frequently visits Bond’s to serve flavorful street tacos prepared by chef Justin Sanchez. There’s an outdoor seating area near the food truck if you prefer to enjoy your dinner and brews outdoors!

 

Day 2

 

Breakfast at Turtle Rock Coffee & Cafe

    The fun and colorful patio outside Turtle Rock Coffee and Café is etched with turtles, dragonflies, vines, and lizards. Inside, you’ll find baked pastries, breakfast burritos, waffle sandwiches, and more! Try their smoothies or signature Café Richesse coffee with your meal.

    North Fork Trail is a moderately challenging out-and-back hike with beautiful scenery. While the full length of the trail is 9.5 miles, hikers can turn back at any point and still enjoy great views. There’s an abundance of shade along the trail for dogs to cool off. Fishing along the North Fork of the Little Laramie River is also popular, so be sure to bring your gear along!
    After your hike, take a short drive to the highest point of the Snowy Range Scenic Byway, marked by a stone observation deck. Climb the stone staircase for incredible 360 degree views. From here you can see Medicine Bow Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Sierra Madre Mountains. Just .3 miles west is Snowy Range Observation Point. Stop here and take in the beauty of the Snowy Range Mountains. Follow the full scenic byway itinerary here.

    This welcoming family-owned restaurant offers burgers, pizzas, and more to reward yourself with after a long day of hiking. Dogs are welcome in their large outdoor seating area, complete with picnic tables so you can enjoy your meal together.

 

Day 3

 

Breakfast at Coal Creek Coffee Co. Downtown

    Start day 3 at Coal Creek Coffee’s downtown location for locally roasted coffee and pastries baked from scratch. Next door, First Street Plaza provides outdoor seating to enjoy breakfast with your pups.

 

Medicine Bow Rail Trail

Hwy. 230 | Forest Service Office: (307) 745-2300

    Head towards Woods Landing on Highway 230 to access the Medicine Bow Rail Trail, an expanse of maintained trails with 6 trailheads: Dry Park, Lake Owen, Lincoln Gulch, Woods Creek, Vienna, and Pelton Creek. The trail system was built in the former location of the Hahn’s Peak and Pacific Railroad, and historic remnants can still be found there today among the aspen and evergreen trees. The entire trail system stretches over 20 miles long, so pick one area to explore for the morning.  

 

Lunch at Alibi Pizzaria

    Alibi boasts a wood-fired menu, live music, and a great selection of draft beers. All of their pizzas are made with Caputo flour, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, local veggies whenever possible & imported meats & cheeses that are the best of their kind. These delicious ingredients sit atop a crispy crust made with their specialty aged dough. Dogs are welcome at their outdoor seating areas.

 

Rufus on GreenbeltOptimist Dog Park and Laramie Greenbelt Trail

    Take a refreshing walk along the nearby Laramie Greenbelt Trail, a scenic path that winds along the Laramie River. There are great views of the Laramie River and the nearby Wyoming Territorial Prison. See the full map here.
The dog park at Optimist Park is a spacious and well-maintained area where dogs can run off-leash. There are three separate fenced areas to play in, one of which has dog agility equipment. If you’re interested in trying out more dog agility courses, there’s another fenced agility park in Laramie at the Aragon Sports Complex (more information here).

 

Laramie Paw Wash

    After three days of adventuring and playing outdoors, your pup might need a bath! Laramie Paw Wash is a convenient self-serve pet wash with modern Evolution Dog Wash machines at each station.

    The Library has a great selection of their own craft beers to choose from, including stouts, pale ales, porters, and IPAs. Try their unforgettable pizzas, sandwiches, and burgers or one of their daily specials. Dogs are allowed on their outdoor patio.
